Nursery
Ministry Overview
Nursery is a Sunday Morning environment for babies and toddlers ages infant-35 months. Our goal is to love every child and to teach them that God made them and that God loves them.We know that leaving your new baby for the first time can be overwhelming. The volunteers in our infant area have been chosen for this age group because of their love for babies and their training to care for all of the needs of your infant. We hope that the following information will help you and your baby have a great experience on Sunday morning.
Please bring diapers, bottles, pacifiers, and any special blankets that will soothe your baby through the morning.
Please label all items that belong to your baby.
Please fill out the sign-in sheet located on the check- in counter with any details concerning feeding and napping schedules. You may take a pager that will buzz if your child needs you.
Parent’s Room and nursing Mom’s Room
If your child needs to stay with you during the service, you can view the service in the Mother’s Room or Family Room. A special place for nursing moms is provided in the North Wing opposite the nursery. If you need assistance in finding these rooms, please ask an usher.
Changing Stations
For your convenience, there is a changing station located in the Mother’s Room as well as the South Wing washroom.
Wellness Policy
In order to protect the health of the children in our care, LHC Children’s Department has developed a strict wellness policy: We will not admit a sick child into class. By adhering to our policy, you are helping to ensure that your sick child gets the proper care and you are preventing other children from getting sick. Thank you in advance for your cooperation!
Symptoms
Please do not check your child into class if he or she is currently experiencing any of the following symptoms, or has had these symptoms within the past 48 hours:
- Fever or pale/flushed skin color
- Diarrhea Vomiting/stomachache
- Watery/red eyes
- Cough Sore throat
- Excessive sneezing
- Stuffy/runny nose (regardless of color)
- Unexplainable rash
- Extreme fatigue/lethargy
Here are a few more details to be aware of:
- Recent Illness: Children who have been ill within the past 3 days need to have had at least 48 hours of non-medicated recuperation time before coming to class.
- Possible Illness: We will ask a parent to remove their child from class if we suspect they have a contagious illness and have not yet seen a physician.
- No Symptoms: A child who complains of not feeling well needs to remain with their parent, even if no symptoms are present yet.
- We cannot administer medication. If a child requires medication during the service, we ask that the parent administer it.
Thank you again for your attention to our wellness policy!
